The Waiter Overview
Akpos, a down-on-his-luck waiter, is hired for a minister’s event but learns his mother needs urgent medical care. As he promises to send his earnings, terrorist Tonye hijacks the hotel, stealing the minister’s funds for the poor. Akpos teams up with his employer and hotel security to stop Tonye, but when his family is captured, he must choose between saving them or stopping the terrorists. The Waiter is an action-comedy that critiques Nigeria’s struggles and the hope for change.
